In this day and age, many retailers are focusing on the fastest production and the cheapest materials to keep up with the latest trends. In a world of cheap products where a 'throw away' mentality is common, it is easy to overlook high-quality long-lasting goods from talented craftspeople. At Mulsanne Group, we only use the highest quality leather hides and each one of our projects is carefully designed by hand before any work is carried out on the leather to avoid as much wasted material as possible. All of the work is hand-made and hand-stitched by us. Although two key fobs may come from the same hide, the natural qualities of the leather allows each piece to have its own unique differences. Vegetable tanned leather ages beautifully, developing it’s own unique characteristics and personality. Although products may be made the same way, they become individual with time and attention. We have a number of original vintage keyrings for sale on our website.
Many of these can be 50 or more years old and whilst some have never been used and are in mint ‘new old stock’ condition – others have been used and are showing signs of wear. The enamel badges we use are either mint condition 'new old stock' which can be 40-50 years old or, in some cases, new badges made in England more recently.
